Sea Collection

Description:

Mom’s love of the seashore

One of the first things I worked on with clay was making sprig molds of my Mom’s seashell collection. I didn’t know quite what I wanted to do with them and they sat unused for many months. It was a long holiday weekend when I made a number of push plates and adorned them with shells sprigs . . . just whatever came to mind.

Here’s a fun behind-the-scenes look at my “photoshoot” of my first seashore-inspired plates:

Then someone, somewhere, asked if I ever did turtles and I thought it would be fun to try. I became a bit obsessed with putting turtles on everything and the glaze results are beautiful.
